I returned to climb Mt. Washington recently. The forecast included a slight chance of afternoon rain, so I figured that a 9:30AM start ought to give me enough time to summit and return.

As I began the climb, I recalled just how tough this hike was, climbing very steeply from the very first step! I set a slow, but deliberate pace and made great progress. Before long I was above the tree line.
