September's outdoor activity for Search and Rescue was camping at Twanoh State Park on Washington's Hood Canal. We had driven by this park numerous times when heading to and from Olympic National Park, but had never stayed there, nor even stopped for a picnic. We found the park to be quite enjoyable with numerous activities as you'll see.

Libby, Kevin and I made a quick stop at the grocery store for some dinner and a couple bags of ice. The short drive got us to the park around 5:00pm. We quickly located a few other SAR members who had set up camp in the back of the campground. This worked out quite well, as the sites chosen were quieter, and cooler than those closer to the highway.
