Skyline Trail,  Olympic National Park,  Jul 12, 2005 - Jul 16, 2005     page 48 / 52

We ate some lunch under a tree which provided protection from the rain, as well as any shelter. This was a good thing since the shelter at Low Divide had been dismantled.

We had intended to stay in the Low Divided or Martins Park area for two days, but with the weather having deteriorated, we decided to move down the valley. We continued to 16-mile camp, where the trail crosses the river Quinalt. We spent the night there.

There were certainly mosquitoes there, too, but not as ferocious as those encountered at Lake Beauty. These ones swarmed, but didn't bite much.
