Mowich Lake '03,  Mt Rainier National Park,  Feb 8, 2003 - Feb 9, 2003     page 6 / 15

After getting to camp, we pitched our tents and began various cooking activities. The sun would soon set behind the western horizon and the temperature was dropping quickly. While the cold air presented some difficulty with the stoves and cooking, these problems were easily overcome. We had dinner and warm drinks early and were all settled into our sleeping bags by 8:00 PM.

The night was cool and clear. The ranger told us Sunday morning the temperature had dipped to -5C (23F). Though a bit chilly, we all stayed warm enough in our sleeping bags and tents.
