This word wa written _____ by Peter Ganyard by his own hand. He and his brother James was of a rich desent in the City LaFleche, France. They went to Espanola now called Hati in 1742 and went into mercantile and plantation business. Peter was sent to new London Conneticut by his brother to get an Englis education and do business in this country. Peter being a fast boy with plenty money ran away from School and was not heard from until he was a marryed man. No one knew not even wife that he had a brother.

A sailor from onboard of his brothers ship herd of Peter and made him a visit and found a humble [?] shoe maker instead of a __sale merchant. He at first denyed, but finally and up and got on bord ship and went to Espanola. His brother put him on a plantation to drive [?] Negros and his daughters into a nunry [?] to make Ladyes of them. This was too much for the yanky Lady to bare so in 1780 they came back to Conneticut . the next year his brother sent him $3000 in gold with which bougt a farm on little river Hartland Con where he died.
