Marmot Pass '05,  Buckhorn Wilderness Area,  Sep 11, 2005 - Sep 13, 2005     page 4 / 26

The hike in had been under partial clouds, as forecast. While the forecast also indicated clear skies for the evening, we decided to set up our tarp, just in case. We had some dinner, visited with one other party in the area, and turned in early when the air began to cool. The warm sleeping bags felt good!

That night we awoke once to hear rain. Fortunately, it only lasted about 30 seconds! Later on that night the skies cleared.

The next morning was cool and clear. We grabbed some trail food, a map and some clothes and hit the trail to explore the high country.
