Killen Ck Meadows '14,  Gifford Pinchot National Forest,  Jul 21, 2014 - Jul 22, 2014     page 38 / 45

The rain began to fall around 2:30am. We were comfortably tucked in our sleeping bags. Well, as comfortable as one can get, sleeping on a lightweight backpacking pad.

The rain continued into the morning. Normally, I would have stashed our bear can, full of all our food, away from our tent. But this time I placed all of our gear under the tent vestibule. As such, we didn't have to leave the tent to make our morning coffee!

During our tent-bound breakfast, I discovered that our rainfly was leaking. I found the foot of my sleeping bag damp, as well as my sleeping pad. What Pacific Northwest backpacking trip would be complete without getting a little wet?
