Grand Pass,  Olympic National Park,  September 13, 2011     page 44 / 54

Past Grand Lake, the trail became quite rocky. Travel was a bit more difficult. The open meadows gave way to more trees, then to forest. I could hear a significant waterfall. Once I saw it, I tried to take a snapshot, but was unable to get a clear view, so I hiked further along.

Eventually, the trail crossed the creek. The creek was now significantly larger than it had been near Gladys Lake. As I continued, I saw a faint side trail to the right. I followed it and found a couple of nice camping spots. I could hear a roar, too. I worked my way beyond one of the camp spots and found a wonderful waterfall. Actually two waterfalls. Total drop was about 75 feet. Very pretty, and very secluded.
