After a small meal, we decided to hike up to Gobbler's Knob for a look at Mt Rainier, for there were no views of the mountain from the lake.

We climbed the hillside, eventually crossing into Mt Rainier National Park. Several trees were marked with park boundary signs. There was one with a bearing marker attached, indicating the corner of four townships.
