Having visited the area a couple times before, it was easy to set a course up the snow-covered hill to a pass (5000 ft) just below Mt Beljica. From there we hiked northeastward and down the hill. Travel along the snow was a bit slow, because we were checking our progress frequently. (The last thing three Search and Rescue volunteers want to have happen is to get lost!) Eventually, we regained the trail below 4700 feet. Travel was easier here.
