The lake was larger than I had imagined, but tucked away in the trees. The shoreline was shadowed enough that we found the area stayed rather cool. Perhaps this would be a good place to camp on a warm weekend, where one could count on staying comfortable throughout the heat of the day.

The lake was very quiet. Despite being just three miles from the parking area, there were no other visitors there when we arrived.
