I quickly reached the junction where one chooses between the summer and winter routes. I used the summer route this time, figuring there would be little snow to climb up the winter route. I followed the trail to the left, continuing upward. I caught up with another hiker, and his dog, while crossing a snowfield. We lost the trail briefly. We scrambled up a creek bed where we quickly rejoined our desired path.
