Cispus Pass,  Goat Rocks Wilderness Area,  Sep 9, 2007 - Sep 10, 2007     page 1 / 16

I returned to the Goat Rocks Wilderness Area for a short solo trip. My last visit had been with my son's Boy Scout troop in 2001. I had forgotten just how pleasant this area is.

I began at Walupt lake, following the Nannie ridge trail. The first two miles of this trail climbs 1800 feet. I intentionally set a slow pace, enjoying the long, mostly wooded climb. As one nears 5800 feet, the trees thin, giving way to a magnificent view south to Mt. Adams.
