Appleton Pass-Cat Lake Traverse,  Olympic National Park,  Sep 8, 2008 - Sep 12, 2008     page 49 / 71

Cat Peak has two summits. The high point is the east summit. One just west is slightly lower, but provided a better view west toward Cat Lake. I took more photos, then pulled out a pair of binoculars which I decided to bring along on this trip. I looked at the lake and the surrounding area. Then I looked at the ridge above the next basin north. I was so surprised to see Dad standing there on the very top of the ridge! What a coincidence to look at just the right time to see him.

Cat Lake lies in the basin at the far left near the small snowfield. Hover the mouse over the image to see the route we followed. Click on the photo for a larger version. (Hover)
