Throughout the night, it rained lighty, sometimes moderately. I hoped the soggy conditions wouldn't hamper my efforts crossing the southwestern slopes of Mt Carrie and Mt Ruth.

I woke early, but remained in my sleeping bag. It was warm and dry there, and I didn't have far to travel on day two.

Shortly after 7:00am, the rain stopped. There was a brief clearing. I could see Mt Carrie and Cat Peak!
