We met at the church at 7:00AM. We stopped in Hoodsport for a back country permit, as well as parking passes. We arrived at the trailhead, roughly 12 miles up the Hamma Hamma river, by 9:30AM. The trail is a steep one, which I've done several times before. If your pack is heavy, the hike will be tough. The boys left a few extras in the cars, to reduce the load to be carried.
